Photo DIY - little note cards

I love craft and I'm always on a look out to combine my two loves: craft and photography. When I saw these little gift tags I knew I needed to make some too! Very easy to make and great way to show off your photos.

Are you crafty? What are you working on at the moment?

Bubbles

I have a confession to make .. I have been bit lazy recently and don't carry my camera with me often enough as I rely on my mobile phone camera. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with mobile phone camera snapshots but for quality printable images the only way is my trusty Nikon.

So we did a little bubbles session with my son .. so much fun!! His goal was to catch all the bubbles before they touched the ground. I'm still yet to meet a child who doens't love bubbles so if your are hesitating to book a photo session because your kids are shy or avoiding the camera, bubbles is an easy ice breaker. Kids forget the camera, act naturally and voilĂ  candid and relaxed images are created that you will cherish forever. The (soap)bubbles are on me - no extra cost!

Cottage life - Finland

Finnish people love to escape to their summer cottages during june and july. Traditional finnish summer cottage is modest with no modern facilities such as electricity and running water. Sauna and swimming in the nearby lake are also essential part of the cottage life. Sounds very basic but it's so incredibly relaxing.

Welcome to the world Lumi - Melbourne newborn photography

I have had to hold myself back not to share this shoot any earlier but I always wait until my client has seen and ordered images before I share it with the world :)

Such a cute little girl. I love her name - Lumi - it means "snow" in finnish (how beautiful is that!).  This was my first ever "watch me grow" shoot. Can't wait to capture Lumi again in few months time.

"Watch Me Grow" is a package that captures the many changes in child's first year.
Package includes 3 photoshoots over 12 month period, one 8x10" matted print from each shoot, 5 digital images from each shoot, online gallery and 24 birth announcement cards. Make an investment for your baby's first year or give it as a baby shower present (gift vouchers available). Every mother would love to receive this package. Only $590 which is unreal value.

Winter beach

I love the beach .. especially in winter and the kids love it too .. you can make sandcastles for hours without getting sunburnt. You can collect treasures and pretend logs that have been washed to to the beach are dinosaurs.

Guide to crop ratios and print sizes

When priting photos via professional lab, online or local priting house it's important to understand cropping ratio's and image sizes. All my images are usually cropped to the 2:3 ratio (unless otherwise stated). So if you wish to print other sizes you might have to crop your images due to different aspect ratios.

Especially when you are using photo kiosks you need to select the function that allows you set the crop lines yourself. Don't ever allow the computer to do the cropping as it can crop some important detail from your image.

To help with this I have created a little guide for you - hope you find it useful.

p.s. I will also attach this document to all my USB's and DVD's so that when you purchase digital images you can use this as your "cheat" sheet.
