Autumn leaves - family portrait session

Here is a session I did with little Patrics family. It was a perfect setting for an autumn shoot: sun was shining and the leaves were falling off the trees as I was shooting away.

Welcome to the world - Patrick Arthur

Intoducing little Patrick - he is so sweet. His mum, dad, big brother and sister were thrilled of his arrival. We took these photos when Patrick was only 8 weeks old and he was so alert already. I also did an outdoor shoot with the whole family - will post those images soon - stay tuned.

Our month in photos - April

Running bit late with the monthly collage but I guess better late than never. We have enjoyed lovely autumn weather: lots of warm sunny days to play outside, take photos and go for family bike rides. Two big purchases in April: the D800 and my sons balance bike. Both have been in daily use since they arrived.

My new (camera) body - Nikon D800 - part 1

When my new camera was delivered a week ago I just couldn't believe it was finally here. After months and months of waiting the announcement from Nikon and then few months wait once it was ordered.  So I've had the camera for a week and what do I think .. ? I personally think this camera just blows your mind. It's so sharp and crisp and after taking my first images I just couldn't believe my eyes .. They say that this is the best DSLR that has been ever made.

The D800 has more resolution than any other full-frame DSLR by a large margin, more than twice as many pixels as Nikon's own brand-new professional Nikon D4 that sells for twice the price!

if you look close enough you can see my refelction in my sons eye taking the photo.

Then couldn't resist to take an image in  my dark kitchen on a cloudy afternoon:

Riina, Dan and Niko - maternity shoot Melbourne

My dear friend Riina wanted to get some maternity photos but also wanted to celebrate the last few weeks as a family of three. Soon they will all be introduced to the new family member and a new stage of their lifes will begin. Riina is looking great, she has that preganacy glow that they talk about.

Our month in photos - March

March means end of summer: cooler nights and nice sunny days. We started the month with Eric's birthday but actually we ended up celebrating and opening presents for a whole week. Also quite few Eric's friends are born in March so we had a party to attend every weekend .. so actually this month has been one LOOONG continuous party.

Everyday inspiration

My son has only recently started enjoying the swing - he loves to go higher and higher and he also wants me to twist the chain so he can spin around and around.

It's a good example how you can capture some lovely images doing just everyday ordinary things ♥

New website

After several months of anticipation I finally have a website! It's been challenging but rewarding and I have learned a lot. However I'm very happy with the site and very proud of it. My poor family have had to eat lots of canned soup and left overs because most of my time has been spent in front of a computer.

One of the best features on my website is the client area where I can set up client proof galleries. So my clients can view their images at their own leisure.

So what's going to happen to the blog? I have added a link to my website which takes you back here (you'll find it under contact) and will keep posting client sneak previews and some family photos here every now and then. However my main focus will be on clients and photography from now on.

Welcome Francesca Jillian - Newborn photography session

Please join me in welcoming little Francesca into the world - isn't she cute! 

She has her mothers beautiful dark brown hair (lots and lots of hair) and olive skin. When we took the photos she was just 6 days "old". Her proud parents and big brother are so delighted of her safe arrival.
